Raymond J. Fabius, MD, CPE, FACPE, and a member of the ACPE Board of Directors, was awarded the Hahnemann University Distinguished Alumnus Award by Drexel University College of Medicine in May of 2006.

The award was established to recognize a Hahnemann University – now Drexel University – graduate for accomplishment in his or her professional field, leadership in the medical profession, participation in professional organizations and scholarly activity that brings recognition to the medical school.

Fabius received his medical degree from Hahnemann in 1977 and completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. At the time of the award Dr. Fabius was President and CMO of i-Trax / CHD Meridian Healthcare – which was subsequently purchased by Walgreens' in 2008. Prior to joining CHD Meridian in early 2005, he was the Global Medical Leader at General Electric Co., and a corporate medical leader for Aetna, US Healthcare and Cigna Corp. He also was president of an eight-doctor private pediatric practice and was a founding member and vice president for Health Internet Ethics. He has played several advisory roles within the National Committee for Quality Assurance and the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission. He is the author of two books for physician executives.
